The Hall Property Park Final Environmental Impact Report (EIR) will be distributed to the public on August 22, 2008. The City Planning Commission will hold a special meeting to hear public comments on the EIR on September 3. On September 9, the Planning Commission will deliberate and vote.
If it's approved, the park will move forward as proposed. The Planning Commission is the decision-making body on this issue.
Here's how the Hall Property Park could impact you:
1,500 cars per day on our streets and only 419 parking spaces
Overwhelming traffic impacts on Santa Fe, MacKinnon and narrow neighborhood side streets
90 foot lights illuminating night skies
Noise pollution and trash in our neighborhoods
We recognized the need for sports fields in Encinitas, however the current Hall Property Park plan is too intense for the neighborhood to safely handle.

Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead
